Hello, my name is Kari. I have found yoga later in my life; and have been practicing with Stephanie for about 9 years. Initially, I was looking for a form of exercise to keep my body moving as I got older. I always had a love/hate relationship with exercise. While I knew it was necessary, I wasn’t always connected to it and didn’t always enjoy it. I thought I knew what yoga was back then, but I have learned so much more since. I believe yoga is about connecting the heart, the mind, and the body. Letting go of the thought that yoga is just another form of exercise has been pivotal in allowing yoga to strengthen much more than my muscles and connective tissue, but to strengthen my mind and align all parts of myself to allow me to be more present in my life. Yoga has become more than exercise; it has become a necessary part of my life. I firmly believe that yoga is for everybody and for EVERY BODY. The hardest limitations we have are usually the ones we place on ourselves.
My training has consisted of two levels (90 hours) of yoga for kids, which I have used in my schools, and my yin and restorative yoga training. While I love taking the flow yang yoga classes, I have found that yin brings calm and peace to my busy life as well as helped to nurse some injuries to my aging body. The benefits of this style of yoga are immense. On the side of my full-time teaching career, I am currently completing my 200 hour YTT online through Outbound Yoga in Calgary to keep expanding my learning and ability to best serve the people who do yoga with me.
I am looking forward to continuing my practice and development under Stephanie, but also spreading my wings to expand my teaching of yoga as well. I am excited for the opportunity to work with you all at Blissful Energy.
